John M. Petkovsek is a senior appraiser with David Matthews Associates and serves as president of the company. John is originally from Evansville. He graduated in 1990 from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN with a B.A. in History and holds Certified General Appraisal licenses in both Indiana and Kentucky.
He joined David Matthews in 1990 as a researcher and began appraising full time in 1992. John is a practicing affiliate with the Appraisal Institute and has served on the local, state and regional levels of the Appraisal Institute as Chair of the Evansville Sub-Chapter, State Chapter Board of Directors, Regional Representative, and as a representative to the National Leadership Development and Advisory Council.
John=s experience has been widely varied in both property types and geography. He has appraised multi-property portfolios spanning the state, shopping centers, manufacturing facilities, office complexes and apartments throughout Indiana and Kentucky, farmland, large tracts of reclaimed strip mined land and right of way projects for local, state and Interstate roads, water and sewer utility expansion, railroads, pipelines and electrical transmission corridors including interstate corridors.
Locally John is involved with the Southwest Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Evansville, was a founding member and President of the Young Professionals Network (YPN), serves on the Evansville Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Committee, as well as volunteer service with Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve, the Red Cross, and as an instructor for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources
