Janice Evans is the senior residential appraiser with David Matthews Associates. Janice is originally from Otwell, Indiana. She graduated in 1974 from Oakland City College (University) with a B.S. in Business Education and in 1977 from the University of Evansville with a M.A. in Business Education. Janice became an Indiana Real Estate Broker in 1985, was awarded the Appraisal Institute’s SRA (residential) designation in 1990 and the AI-RRS (residential review) in 2014. She also holds Certified General Appraisal licenses in Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois.
Janice joined David Matthews Associates in 1981 to do research work on various appraisals, feasibility and reuse studies including collection of rental and sales data, tax assessment data, regional analysis and report and preparation proofing. She began appraising full time a few years later.
She has served on the local, state, regional and national levels of the Appraisal Institute from Chair of the Evansville Sub-Chapter, State Chapter President, Regional PR Chair, National Admissions and Designation Qualifications (ADQC)Committee, plus a variety of other positions.
Janice’s experience has been widely varied in both property types and geography. Primary appraisal experience has been in the area of single family home appraisals for lenders, relocation companies, attorneys, brokers, and individuals in nine counties in Southwestern Indiana; Henderson and Union Counties, Kentucky; and White and Wabash Counties, Illinois. Additional appraisals have been made on apartments, multi-family and various types of land including agricultural acreage, subdivisions, reclaimed strip mine, homesites, small office buildings, etc. She has also testified in Vanderburgh, Gibson and Warrick County courts.
Locally Janice is involved in The American Sewing Guild, the United Caring Shelter meal crew, and her church choir. In prior years she participated in the Evansville Downtown Civitan and the Evansville Philharmonic Chorus.
